An objective of the present invention is to provide a balloon ablation catheter such that even when the catheter shaft is heated by means of high-frequency waves, the catheter shaft will not lengthen to an extent that would hamper usage of the balloon ablation catheter, and such that the risk of an operator or patient being burned by heating of a reinforcement wire within the catheter shaft is significantly reduced.
