PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of preventing the repeated scanning just before an ECG trigger signal from being suspended on the way of scanning, capable of improving the efficiency in using obtained data, and capable of generating an image just before the ECG trigger signal.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus comprises an ultrasonic probe a scan control part for inputting a trigger signal corresponding to the heart rate cycle, scanning segments of a desired diagnostic area divided into a prescribed number of segments repeatedly a plurality of times with ultrasonic beams for each trigger signal, and controlling the repeated scanning cycle by controlling the pulse repeating cycle of transmitted pulses and an image generating part for connecting data obtained for each segment in the order of repeated scanning to generate the image of the whole diagnostic area.
