<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus for making a temperature distribution of a magnetic material hold plate 14 even without narrowing an image pickup area and attenuating a fluctuation magnetic field while generating small eddy current. <；P>；SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus includes: a magnet for generating a static magnetic field in an image pickup area of a subject； a gradient magnetic field coil for making pulse current flow to generate a magnetic field where magnetic field intensity is gradient in the image pickup area, a low temperature area where heat is unevenly generated, and a high temperature area which is higher in temperature than the low temperature area； and a magnetic material hold plate 14 which is disposed along the gradient magnetic field coil, holds a plurality of magnetic materials 13, and improves the evenness of the static magnetic field. The magnetic material hold plate 14 is an excellent conductor provided with slits 19, has a high temperature approximate area 29 close to the high temperature area and low temperature approximate areas 37, 38 close to the low temperature area.
