PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress quality deterioration such as image distortion, in a configuration which acquires an image by scanning on a retina of measurement light by a resonance scanner.SOLUTION: An image generation apparatus comprises: photoelectric conversion means for converting return light by measurement light that reciprocatively scans an eyeground an extraction part for extracting a reference signal for specifying a scanning position during performing one reciprocative scanning image generation means for generating image data by reciprocative scanning of the measurement light means for setting the reference signal as a sampling reference position during sampling return light and setting the scanning amplitude of a scanner during generating image data as reference amplitude correction value input means for inputting a correction value of at least one of the sampling reference position and the reference amplitude and first correction means for correcting the sampling reference position and second correction means for correcting the reference amplitude on the basis of the correction value inputted by the correction value input means.
