The present invention relates to an anti-inflammatory agent and a pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer containing 15-keto prostaglandin E2 as an active ingredient. More specifically, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition in which 15-keto prostaglandin E2 binds to STAT3, promoting the carcinogenesis process so as to inhibit the activity of STAT3, thereby inhibiting the inflammatory response, growth of cancer cells, metastasis of cancer cells, invasion of cancer cells, and tumor formation. The composition containing 15-keto prostaglandin E2 as an active ingredient of the present invention can inhibit the STAT3 activity to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and tumor formation. Additionally, the composition uses substances derived from the human body, and thus concerns about side effects of chemically synthesized anticancer drugs can be ruled out.본 발명은 15-케토 프로스타글란딘 E2를 유효성분으로 포함하는 항염증제, 암 치료용 약학 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 15-케토 프로스타글린딘 E2가 암화 과정을 촉진하는 STAT3에 결합하여 STAT3의 활성을 억제시킴으로써 염증반응, 암세포의 성장, 암세포의 전이, 암세포의 침윤 및 종양형성을 억제시킬 수 있는 약학 조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명에 따른 15-케토 프로스타글란딘 E2를 유효성분으로 포함하는 조성물은 STAT3의 활성을 억제시켜 암세포의 성장 및 종양 형성을 억제할 수 있다. 또한 체내에서 유도된 물질을 이용하기 때문에 기존에 화학적으로 합성된 항암제가 갖는 부작용에 대한 우려를 배제할 수 있다.
