PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly water-resistant solid poison bait for controlling an insect pest.
SOLUTION: An alginate ester as a shape-retaining agent is incorporated with a solid poison bait for controlling an insect pest comprising an insecticidal component (for example, fenobucarb), an attracting agent (for example, krill meal), a bait agent (for example, wheat bran), a carrier (for example, wheat powder), an accidental ingestion-preventing agent (for example, denatonium benzoate), an antiseptic agent (for example, potassium sorbate) and a solvent (for example, ethanol) to enhance water resistance as a solid agent of the poison bait.
