Described is a new surgical instrument and method for implanting an element of an inferior hip prosthesis in a patient. The device is an impactor that is struck with a hammer at its proximal end after being used to position an implant element on a patient. The acetabular impactor has an inclination and a forehead rod which are used to position the acetabocain to an optimal position within the acetabulum. The acetabular impactor attaches the acetabular ball to the acetabular cup with a moss taper. Also, the thigh cup impactor attaches the thigh cup to the thigh stem with a mos taper.환자에게 역고관절 보철물의 요소를 임플란트하는 데에 사용되는 새로운 수술 기구 및 방법이 기재되어 있다. 상기 기구는 임플란트 요소를 환자에게 위치시키기 위해 사용된 후에 그 근위 단부에서 망치로 타격되는 임팩터이다. 비구컵 임팩터는 상기 비구컵을 비구 내의 최적의 위치로 위치시키는 데에 사용되는 경사 및 전경 로드를 구비한다. 비구볼 임팩터는 모스 테이퍼로 비구컵에 비구볼을 부착시킨다. 또한 대퇴부 컵 임팩터는 모스 테이퍼로 대퇴부 스템에 대퇴부 컵을 부착시킨다.
