The present invention discloses an in vitro method to provide biological tissue with a heparin coating comprising the following steps linking a biotinreagent to biological tissue, linking an avidin reagent to the biotinylatedbiological tissue, and linking a heparin reagent to the formed layer of avidinon the biological t issue thus forming a heparin coating. The inventionfurther discloses a heparin coating on biological t issue, the use of aheparin coating, and the biological t issue coated with a heparin layeraccording to the method.
