PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which makes it possible to satisfactorily save useless time of examination performed using MRS (Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy).SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a spectrum acquisition unit and a display unit. The spectrum acquisition unit acquires a frequency spectrum of magnetic resonance signals from a metabolic product in a target region in an object by applying high frequency pulses and gradient magnetic field pulses to the object in a static field.
