PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining device which enables reliable positioning of a part of a body of an animal and reduces a burden on the animal, and an imaging device equipped with it.
SOLUTION: An MRI apparatus 10 is equipped with the retaining device 100 for retaining the animal O such as a mouse and a rat. The retaining device 100 includes a retaining member 104 having a retaining part 108 where the animal O is placed and an attaching part 110 where a clamper 124 is attached. A tapered part 112 forming a space S which has a shape of a semi-circular truncated cone and becomes narrower in a direction of an arrow A is provided on the retaining part 108. A pipe 116 is penetrated through the clamper 124, and a hooking member 118 is connected to an end part of the pipe 116 placed inside the retaining part 108. A head part H of the animal O is brought into pressure contact with the tapered part 112 by pulling the pipe 116 in the direction of the arrow A while a front tooth T of the animal O is hooked on the hooking member 118.
