Disclosed is a dental material comprising at least one filler ingredient including (a) at least one curable monomer and/or polymer and (b) agglomerated oxide particles. The agglomerated oxide particles include a matrix and a doping component, wherein the matrix includes silicon dioxide and the doping component includes zirconium dioxide. The agglomerated oxide particles are incorporated in the curable polymer matrix of the dental material, are only worn out layer by layer with the polymer matrix of the dental material for wear, and do not come off as a separate intact particle.
