An endoscopic surgical device is provided and includes an endoscopic anchorretaining/advancing assembly including a proximal tube portion and a distaltube portionpivotably connected to one another at an articulation joint a proximal innershaft rotatablydisposed within the proximal tube portion a distal inner shaft rotatablydisposed within the distaltube portion and a relatively flexible intermediate drive cable mechanicallyinterconnecting theproximal inner shaft and the distal inner shaft, wherein the intermediatedrive cable extendsacross the articulation joint, wherein the intermediate drive cable defines acentral longitudinalaxis that is off-set a radial distance from a central longitudinal axis of theproximal tube portionand the distal tube portion.
