A connection device has a maleconnector and a female connector. The femaleconnector will only accommodate the dedicated maleconnector, thereby prohibiting a misconnection withthe wrong male connector. In certain embodiments,a member prohibits male connectors, other than adedicated male connector, from being inserted intothe female connector. In certain other embodiments,a post prohibits male connectors, other than adedicated male connector including a slot, frombeing inserted into the female connector. In stillcertain other embodiments, a series of prongs inthe male connector and corresponding grooves inthe female connector ensure the proper connection.Once the male connector is inserted and securedwithin the female connector, a fluid-tight seal isformed between the male connector and the femaleconnector.
