Provided is a system and method for receiving peritoneal dialysis treatment without maintaining unused dialysis solution in a walk-in facility. The facility receives peritoneal dialysis prescription instructions from the patient, confirms the prescription instructions, determines the appropriate treatment for the patient, provides the patient with an appropriate amount of dialysis solution, and performs dialysis treatment at the facility for the patient. The facility monitors the patient's home dialysis treatment and coordinates the patient's treatment at the facility. The facility produces dialysis solution on demand by producing solutions from solution components according to patient prescription instructions. The facility uses an adsorbent system to regenerate the effluent dialysis solution into a fresh dialysis solution. One embodiment of a peritoneal dialysis system is a filling container and an actuating unit that removably receives the filling container, wherein the fluid in the filling container is transferred to the patient relative to the filling container when received by the actuating unit.
