A pad is disclosed having a grid of absorbent structures (e.g., squares) formed on the pad. The pad may be used to quantify or otherwise assess blood loss by a patient. For example, blood lost by the patient and absorbed by the pad may be quantified by counting the number of saturated squares on the pad and taking into account the known absorbance of each square.L'invention concerne une compresse ayant une grille de structures absorbantes (par exemple des carrés) formées sur la compresse.
