The RF surface coil unit is a bulk-type RF surface coil, and includes a plurality of RF coil elements formed on a cylindrical-shaped base, wherein at least one pair of the plurality of RF coil elements include facing RF coil elements that are electrically connected to each other and are formed as one channel.
