The present invention relates to a method for decontaminating a surface that is susceptible to contamination by a pathogenic agent, the method comprising: - in a first step, bringing the surface into contact with a first solution having a pH greater than or equal to 9.5 and less than 13, comprising at least one weak base which has at least a pKa of between 8 and 13 and of which the concentration in the solution is at least 5.10-3 mol.l-1 - this step being followed, optionally when the pH of the first solution is greater than or equal to 10.2, or compulsorily when the pH of the first solution is lower than 10.2, by a second step in which the surface is brought into contact with a second solution comprising an oxidizing agent at a concentration of at least 50 ppm.La présente invention concerne un procédé de décontamination dune surface susceptible dêtre contaminée par un agent pathogène comprenant : - dans une première étape, la mise en contact de la surface avec une première solution ayant un pH supérieur ou égal à 9,5 et inférieur à 13, comprenant au moins une base faible ayant au moins un pKa compris entre 8 et 13 et dont la concentration dans la solution est dau moins 5.10-3 mol.l-1 - suivie, de manière optionnelle, lorsque le pH de la première solution est supérieur ou égal à 10,2, ou de manière obligatoire, lorsque le pH de la première solution est inférieur à 10,2, dune deuxième étape comprenant la mise en contact de la surface avec une deuxième solution comprenant un agent oxydant à une concentration dau moins 50 ppm.
