A sensor for indirect estimation of breast milk intake by an infant, the sensor comprising: a housing configured to be externally attached to an incontinence product worn by a subject, said housing comprising: a light-emitting diode (LED) configured to illuminate the incontinence product； a photodetector configured to output an indication of the amount of light reflected from the incontinence product； and an integrated circuit configured to: (a) receive the indication from said photodetector, (b) compute, based on the indication, an amount of urine secreted by the subject into the incontinence product, and (c) estimate the amount of breast milk intake by the infant based on the amount of urine secreted by the subject into the incontinence product.L'invention concerne un capteur destiné à estimer indirectement la quantité de lait maternel ingéré par un nourrisson. Ce capteur comprend : un logement configuré pour être fixé externe sur une couche portée par le bébé, ce logement étant pourvu d'une diode électroluminescente (DEL) configurée pour éclairer la couche ； un photodétecteur configuré pour émettre une indication de la quantité de lumière reflétée par la couche ； ainsi qu'un circuit intégré configuré pour : (a) recevoir l'indication du photodétecteur, (b) calculer, en fonction de cette indication, une quantité d'urine sécrétée par le bébé dans la couche, et (c) estimer la quantité de lait maternel ingéré par le nourrisson en fonction de la quantité d'urine sécrétée dans la couche.
