PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively inhibit the invasion of weeds into the afforestation with only woody plants. SOLUTION: When a woody plant community of deciduous broad-leaved and evergreen broad-leaved mixed trees is created by the method of sowing the seeds of woody plants, the seeds of at least one of shade-tolerant trees are sowed at least more than double the number of the seeds of the largest amount in the other shad-tolerant tree. In one or three years after the afforestation, the shade-tolerant woody plants are allowed to grow thickly as the forest floor plant for the created plant community. In another method of sowing the seeds of woody plants, the seeds of the woody plants that can thickly close the tree crown parts may be similarly sowed whereby these woody plants that can close the tree crown are allowed to thickly grow as the upper layer vegetation of the created plant community.
