PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional sheet containing functional powder tending not to come off, good in liquid permeability, and excellent in liquid return-proofness as well.
SOLUTION: A first functional sheet 1 comprises functional powder and a fibrous material. In the planar direction of the functional sheet 1, there are such high-basis-weight regions 2 as to be greater in the fibrous materials basis weight than the other regions 3. A second functional sheet is provided by a wet papermaking process from a slurry composition containing functional powder and a fibrous material. In the planar direction of this functional sheet, there are such high-basis-weight regions as to be greater in the fibrous materials basis weight than the other regions. An absorbent article includes a liquid-permeable obverse-face sheet, a reverse-face sheet and an absorber interposed in between both of these sheets wherein the absorber comprises an absorbing core including a fiber aggregate and a water-absorbing polymer, and the first or second functional sheet covers at least the surface of the obverse-face sheet side of the absorbing core.
