A method for producing particles of predetermined sized and/or morphology ofa substance in a production arrangement comprising the steps of: i) mixing withina spray nozzle and under flow conditions a stream of a liquid solution in whichthe substance is dissolved with a stream of a fluid, and ii) passing the mixturein the form of a spray through a spray outlet of the nozzle into a particle collectingcontainer, and iii) separating and collecting within the container the particles. The characteristic feature is that the solvent is a liquid and the fluid is an aqueousliquid in a subcritical state. Preferred nozzles have two coaxial internal transportconduits. One aspect is a production arrangement that can be used in the method. Its characteristic features are functions for a) recycling fluid used in theprocess, b) for including a make-up agent in the fluid stream, and/or increasingproduction by paralleling particle formation.
