The abutment (5) has a neck part (10), a cone part (15), a core (75) and a covering layer (70), where the core and the covering layer are visually and/or acoustically different from each other. An intermediate layer is arranged between the core and the covering layer. The neck part has a vertically running plane surface, which serves for securing rotation of a prosthodontics element to be attached on the abutment. An inlet extends over the abutment, and is designed in the form of an axial passage. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing an abutment.
