PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aqueous ophthalmic compositions containing anionic therapeutic agents.SOLUTION: The present invention is directed to the provision of multi-dose ophthalmic compositions. The compositions possess sufficient antimicrobial activity to satisfy United States Pharmacopeia preservative efficacy requirements and similar preservative standards (e.g., European Pharmacopeia and Japanese Pharmacopeia).
