PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medication management system and a medication management device for use in the medication management system that allow a visit pharmacy to know whether or not a patient has taken a medicine in real time even when a care facility staff or the patient has missed to take the medicine at a medication time, and can manage to take medicine.SOLUTION: A medication management system comprises: a medication management device 1； a transmission computer 12 that sets the device 1 and transmits data received from the device 1； and a reception computer 14 that displays the data received from the transmission computer 12. The medication management device 1 includes: a pocket 8 that houses a drug 8； a hole 6 that is bored at a location enclosed in the pocket； an infrared-ray sensor 7 that is provided at a location corresponding to the hole 6； and a control device 10 that controls the infrared-ray sensor 5.
