The present invention relates to a novel method for preparing rutile titanium dioxide powder. A method for preparing a reaction mother liquid of titanyl chloride (TiOCl_2) which is an existing intermediate material is changed to be different from an existing technology, and reaction time and conditions using TiOCl_2 are optimized, so convenience and economic feasibility of processes are secured and rutile titanium dioxide powder with high purity can be manufactured in an easy manner.본 발명은 루타일(Rutile)상 이산화티탄 분말의 신규 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에서는 종래 중간물질인 티타닐클로라이드(TiOCl2) 반응모액의 제조방법을 종래기술과 상이하게 변경함과 동시에 상기 티타닐클로라이드를 이용한 반응시간과 조건을 최적화함으로써, 공정의 간편성 및 경제성을 확보하고, 미세하고 균일한 입도 분포를 갖는 고순도 루타일상 이산화티탄 분말을 용이하게 제조할 수 있다.
