Method for growing shellfish, wherein a carrier supports multiple shellfish and the carrier is integrated or connected with a sheet-like substrate, wherein the shellfish attach, preferably attach themselves or have been attached, to the sheet-like substrate, wherein the carrier may at least partly degrade to give way to the shellfish which attach themselves to the sheet-like substrate, and after some time the shellfish may be removed from the sheet-like substrate.
