The invention relates generally to the use of substituted nitrostyrene compounds in the treatment of Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcal infections. In particular aspects the present invention relates to the use of these compounds in the treatment S. aureus infections where the bacteria have a level of vancomycin resistance.L'invention concerne de manière générale l'utilisation de composés de nitrostyrène substitués dans le traitement d'infections par Staphylococcus aureus et Entérocoques.
