The trocar loading device includes a base member and an engagement member operatively secured to the base member. The base member defines a longitudinal passage for receipt of a trocar assembly and the engagement member releasably secures the trocar member within the base member. The base member includes an alignment feature for aligning the trocar assembly with an adapter assembly.
