A penile prosthesis implantation device comprises a barrel, an obturator and a needle clamp. The obturator includes a distal end that is received within the bore and is configured to slide along a longitudinal axis of the bore relative to the barrel. The needle clamp at the distal end of the obturator includes opposing pinching surfaces that are displaced from an interior wall of the bore, and a receptacle between the pinching surfaces configured to receive a thread attachment end of a needle and hold the end of the needle through an interference fit with the pinching surfaces.
