PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect or correct a communication error without increasing the power consumption of a capsule endoscope.
SOLUTION: A receiving device receives radio signals including image data captured by the capsule endoscope introduced into a subject, and acquires the image data based on the received radio signals. The receiving device has a pixel defect correcting part 322 for detecting a pixel defect in the image data based on pixel values of the respective pixels constituting the image data and correcting the detected pixel defect. The capsule endoscope system is composed of the receiving device 3 having the pixel defect correcting part 322.
