A surgical access assembly for positioning within an opening in tissueincluding an outerframe positionable outside a patient and defining an opening thereindimensioned to receive asurgical instrument therethrough. The outer frame includes first and secondportions. The firstportion is biased into locking engagement with the second portion such that afirst engagementstructure is in locking engagement with a second engagement structure. Aninner member ispositionable within a patient and a flexible member extends between the innermember and outermember and is operatively associated with the outer member. The first portionis movable toovercome the bias to move the first and second engagement structures to adisengaged position,wherein in the disengaged position at least one of the first and secondportions is movable withrespect to the other portion to adjust the tension on the flexible member toretract tissue.
