The present invention relates generally to mascara compositions that impart volume to the eyelashes while maintaining a smooth texture and high shine. The composition containing an amount of wax sufficient to provide a volumizing effect while maintaining a sufficiently low fluid rheology (e.g., a viscosity less than about 200,000 cps such that the mascara applies evenly and without clumping to the eyelashes.
