PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an individual identification device or an individual identification method capable of identifying (authenticating, specifying or the like) an individual on the basis of the shapes of bones composing the individual.SOLUTION: The individual identification device includes: storage means for storing collation information related to the shapes of bones of a plurality of individuals acquisition means for acquiring identification object information related to the shapes of bones of an individual to be identified and identification means for identifying the individual on the basis of the identification object information acquired by the acquisition means by using the collation information stored in the storage means.
