PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing wogonin for preventing or treating asthma is provided to relieve airway hypersensitivity and to suppress reactive oxygen generation in the airway and inflammatory cell invasion in bronchus. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating asthma contains wogonin of chemical formula 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The asthma includes bronchial asthma, allergic asthma, atopic asthma, non-atopic asthma, aspirin-induced asthma, cardiac asthma, or alveolar asthma. Wogonin suppresses airway hypersensitivity, reactive oxygen generation in the airway, or inflammatory cell invasion in bronchus. A health food composition for preventing or treating asthma contains wogonin of chemical formula 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient.본 발명은 오고닌을 유효성분으로 함유하는 천식 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 오고닌은 생체내(in vivo)에서 천식 발생의 원인으로 문제가 되는 기도과민성을 경감시키고, 기도 내 활성 산소 발생량을 억제시키며, 기관지 내 염증세포 침윤을 억제할 뿐만 아니라, 혈청과 기관지 폐포 세척액 내의 난 알부민, 특히 IgE 생성을 억제하고, 폐에서 Th2 사이토카인의 발현을 억제하는 효과가 우수하므로 천식 예방, 치료 및 개선용 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
