The fabric comprises chloroprene homo-polymer (neoprene) and mixed metal oxide. The metal oxide comprises aluminium (Al) and silicon (Si), and preferably zinc (Zn) or magnesium (Mg). These might be a mixture of metal oxides or aluminosilicate derived mineral. The preferred fabric 2 includes outer polyamide (nylon) or polyester cover layers 4, 10, intermediate layers 6, 12 comprising binder and mixed metal oxide and core neoprene layer 8. The fabric is used in garments, especially shorts, tops and leggings.
