The present invention relates to a preform that is used for plastic orthodontic appliance production. A method for producing the plastic orthodontic appliance preform according to the present invention includes: (a) a step in which three-dimensional image data (A image data) showing a tooth arrangement is obtained (b) a step in which three-dimensional image data (B image data) with a smoothened occlusal surface is obtained by the shape of the occlusal surface being softened by low-pass filtering being applied to a coordinate value (Z-axis coordinate value) showing the height of the occlusal surface in the obtained A image data and (c) a step in which the preform is produced by the use of the B image data.
