PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bait casting reel with a variable spool plate.SOLUTION: A spool S comprises: a body part S1 pivoted and rotated in a reel body R, having a fishing line being wound around an outer circumferential surface, and having one side surface opened； and a shaft part S3 protruded from the opening of the body part S1 to one side and connected, and having a spool shaft S2 inserted therein. A variable spool plate 10 is included in the left and right moving manner in the length direction of the shaft part S3 on the opening of the body part S1. A bait casting reel comprises a breaking magnet M included inside of a spool cover SC1 of the reel body R, and providing the braking force for making the rotational speed of the spool S decelerate by using the magnetic force acting on the spool plate 10.
