The invention is directed to an intracorporeal marker, a delivery device andassembly for such marker and the method of delivering one or more of themarkersto an intracorporeal location within a patient. The marker is a body formed atleast inpart of a bioabsorbable fibrous material such as a fibrous mat or fabric. Thedeliverydevices preferably also include one or more bioabsorbable short term markerswhichare configured to expand within the body cavity due to contacting a bodyfluid. Thefibrous marker has a radiographically detectable member which preferably holdaportion of the fibrous body in a compressed condition. Preferably, the fibrousmarkerhas a fibrous felt core formed of bioabsorbable material with a fabric jacketformed ofbioabsorbable material. Therapeutic, diagnostic and binding agents may beincorporated into the fibrous body of the marker.
