The purpose of the present invention is to provide a reel seat which does not damage an appearance, inhibits increase of the weight, and reinforces reel legs, and a fishing rod having the reel seat. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a reel seat comprises a fixing hood which holds and supports one end of reel legs on a reel seat body. A fiber reinforced resin sheet including reinforced fiber is installed over outer circumferences of the fixing hood and the reel seat. The reinforced fiber is elongated over the total length of the fiber reinforced resin sheet.
