The present invention relates to a mini-oriental melon that has a weight of 25 to 200 g and a method for breeding the same. The mini-oriental melon according to the present invention is obtained by means of hybridization between native and general oriental melons and is lighter in weight and smaller in size than a general oriental melon. Accordingly, the mini-oriental melon according to the present invention has a bite size, and thus can cater to people wishing to consume fruits and vegetables in a convenient way. In addition, the mini-oriental melon according to the present invention is expected to function as a new income crop that is capable of responding to a change in agricultural product consumption pattern resulting from an increase in the number of single-person and two-person households. Furthermore, the reduced size of the present invention facilitates operations such as cultivation, harvesting, and transport, and thus it can be bred in a commercially effective manner even by aged fruit farmers.
