PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical observation system which is suitably configured not to impose a burden on a patient due to the excessive supply of an insufflation gas.
SOLUTION: The medical observation system includes an insufflation means for delivering air to the inside of a body cavity from a distal end portion of a scope, a pressure detecting means for detecting the pressure in the vicinity of the distal end portion of the scope, and an air cooling means for cooling a gaseous body delivered by the insufflation means when the detected pressure reaches a prescribed threshold value.
