PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a high-image-quality ultrasonic image properly subjected to delay correction depending on various operations such as freeze and a change of image quality, in ultrasonic diagnostic equipment.SOLUTION: The transmission and reception of ultrasonic waves for setting an acoustic velocity are performed depending on freeze instructions, observation object range instruction, image-quality change instructions and image-mode change instructions. An acoustic velocity of a subject is set by using a reception signal obtained by the transmission and reception for setting the acoustic velocity. The reception signal obtained by the transmission and reception of the ultrasonic waves is processed on the basis of the set acoustic velocity to generate an ultrasonic image. Thus, the above problem is solved.【課題】超音波診断装置において、フリーズや画質変更などの各種の操作に対応して、適正に遅延補正が行われた高画質な超音波画像を生成する。【解決手段】フリーズの指示、観察対象範囲の指示、画質の変更指示、および、画像モードの変更指示に応じて、音速を設定するための超音波の送受信を行い、この音速設定用の送受信で得られた受信信号を用いて被検体の音速を設定し、設定した音速に基づいて、超音波の送受信で得られた受信信号を処理して超音波画像を生成することにより、前記課題を解決する。【選択図】図４
