PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door causing no injury to a pet animal even when the pet animal is passing through an opening during opening movement of the sliding door.SOLUTION: An opening 3 in a sliding door 1 allowing a pet animal to pass through is formed at an end 1a on the closing side of the sliding door in the width direction and at a position leaving a residual part extending to the bottom edge of the sliding door in the height direction. As a result, with the sliding door closed a pet animal can pass through the opening, and when the pet animal is passing through the opening during opening movement of the sliding door, the pet animal can slip out of the opening from the opening side opposite to the direction of the opening movement of the sliding door, without getting injured from being dragged by the sliding door or pinched between the door and a jamb. In the residual part under the opening, a traveling device of the sliding door such as a door roller can be smoothly installed at the bottom edge of the sliding door and strength can be secured as well.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】ペットが開口部をくぐり抜けようとしているときに引戸を開動させてもペットに怪我をさせないような構成を提供する。【解決手段】引戸1に形成されるペット通行可能な開口部3が、幅方向においては引戸の閉じ側の木口1aに開口し且つ高さ方向においては引戸の下端との間に残存部を有する位置に形成されるので、引戸を閉じた状態であっても開口部をペットがくぐり抜けることができるだけでなく、ペットが開口部をくぐり抜けようとしているときに引戸を開動させてもペットは引戸開動方向とは逆方向に開口部の開口側からスムーズに抜け出すことができるので、引戸に引きずられたり、縦枠の間に挟まれることがなく、ペットに怪我をさせることがない。開口部の下方の残存部において引戸の下端に戸車などの引戸走行機構をスムーズに設置することができ、且つ、強度を確保できる。【選択図】図2
