Provided is a gel-like composition which has such satisfactory safety, storage stability, and versatility as to be widely used typically as cosmetics and pharmaceutical vehicles. The gel-like composition contains a polyglycerol monoalkyl ether represented by following Formula (1):RO—(C3H6O2)n-H (1)wherein RO represents an alkoxy group having 12 to 22 carbon atoms, and “n” denotes a degree of glycerol polymerization and is 4 to 100in a content of from 0.1 to 20 percent by weight an aqueous component in a content of 0.65 to 1.5 times by weight relative to the content of the polyglycerol alkyl ether and an oily component in a content of from 50 to 99.835 percent by weight.
