PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moss greening base material, a moss greening base material unit, and a moss greening substrate on which a person can walk, in which there is no obstacle for moss to grow, and no accumulation of water, which is strong against wind and rain, and is easily formed.SOLUTION: The moss greening base material includes at least: a water drainage material； a water retention material； and moss, wherein the moss survives on the water retention material, a projection is projected from the water retention material in the opposite direction (upward) to the water drainage material. The plurality of projections are connected (1), have 0.5-5 cm height from the surface of the water retention material (2), and have an average deformation ratio of 0-60% when the load of 50 kgf/200 cm(24.5 kPa) is applied from above the projection (3).【課題】上を人が歩くことができ、コケの生育障害物がなく、水の滞留がなく、風雨に強く、施工が容易なコケ緑化基材、コケ緑化基材ユニット及びコケ緑化用基板を提供することである。【解決手段】少なくとも排水材、保水材及びコケからなるコケ緑化基材において、該保水材上に該コケが活着し、かつ該保水材より該排水材とは反対方向（上部）に突き出た突起物があり、該突起物は、（１）複数個が連結され、（２）該保水材の表面より０．５～５ｃｍの高さがあり、かつ（３）該突起物の上から５０ｋｇｆ／２００ｃｍ２（２４．５ｋＰａ）の荷重をかけた時の平均変形率が０～６０％であることを特徴とするコケ緑化基材。【選択図】図１
