PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open space of natural lawns which enables vegetation of natural lawns on a veranda, a rooftop, and a pavement in a ground, or the like, and is easy to maintain and construct.
SOLUTION: The open space is made of a layer obtained by spreading a plurality of water retaining-water permeating concrete blocks with tray, provided by putting raw concrete kneaded with pumice, portland cement, and water into a tray having an inwardly inclined side wall, opening drain holes on the bottom and made by molding a synthetic resin sheet, and solidifying the product, a water supply pipe 5 arranged between a triangle or trapezoid space formed between the water retaining-water permeating concrete blocks with tray, adjacent to each other, a nonwoven fabric 3 spread on a plurality of the water retaining-water permeating concrete blocks with tray to be permeated with water in a horizontal direction, water-conducting means conducting water from the water supply pipe 5 to the nonwoven fabric 3 by a capillary phenomenon, a sand layer 4 formed on the nonwoven fabric, and natural lawns 10 taking root on the spread sand layer.
