The present invention provides herbal formulas, and compositions thereof, that can treat or reduce the severity, intensity, or duration of food allergy and food allergy related symptoms. The compositions may optionally include one or more adjuvants, cytokines, encapsulating materials, or pharmaceutically acceptable carriers or excipients, and may be administered prior to, during, or after the development of food allergy-related symptoms in a patient in need thereof. The herbal formula comprises an herbal mixture consisting of Ling-Zhi, Wu Mei, Chuan Jiao, Huang Lian, Huang Bai, Gan Jiang, Gui Zhi, Ren Shen, and Dang Gui.
