The present invention provides an image acquisition apparatus and an image acquisition method which can simultaneously acquire a two-dimensional image and a three-dimensional image by a single photographing process. According to the present invention, the image acquisition apparatus comprises: a control module to control first photographing for acquiring a two-dimensional image and second photographing for acquiring a three-dimensional image an X-ray generation unit to emit an X-ray to a subject on at least one first position by first photographing and a plurality of second positions by second photographing in a first and a second dose an X-ray detector to receive the X-ray emitted to the subject to acquire data corresponding to first and second photographing and an image conversion unit to convert the data of first photographing into a two-dimensional image and convert the data of second photographing into a three-dimensional image. The first dose is larger than the second dose.
