This animal toilet has a longitudinal direction, a horizontal direction and a vertical direction that are perpendicular to each other, and is provided with an upper container which has multiple holes through which urine passes downwards, a lower container which is disposed below the upper container and which has an insertion port formed in the front surface, and a tray which is received into the lower container from the insertion port so as to be capable of being drawn out in the forward direction and which catches and stores urine falling from the holes in the upper container. When viewed from the horizontal direction, the front part of the tray does not protrude forwards beyond the aforementioned front surface of the lower container. The front portion of the tray has an exposed part. The exposed part is exposed to the external space upwards and downwards. A modified-shape part, the shape of which has been modified from that of the surrounding portion, is provided at the top and at the bottom of the exposed part.
