A system for the production of a beverage, more particularly a cold beverage,comprising a cartridge which has a reservoir filled with a beverage substance,and abeverage preparation unit having a cartridge receptacle in which the cartridgecan bereversibly inserted, and a cartridge discharge device which causes at leastpartialtransfer of the beverage substance from the reservoir into a mixing chamber.Thebeverage preparation unit furthermore comprises a liquid supply which opensinto themixing chamber. The cartridge receptacle comprises a form-fitting elementwhichholds the cartridge in a form-fitting manner. The form-fitting elementcomprises atleast one spring element and/or detent element which is compressed and/orengagedon inserting the cartridge into the cartridge receptacle. The cartridgereceptacle has alead-in chamfer and/or positioning aid.
